The Baker County Board of Commissioners voted 3-0 Thursday morning, Oct. 14, to approve a notice of intent to award a contract for operating a visitor center in Baker City to the Baker County Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber, operating under Baker County Unlimited, was one of two local organizations to submit a proposal to the county in September.

The other applicant, Anthony Lakes Outdoor Recreation Association, announced on Wednesday, Oct. 13 that it had withdrawn its proposal.
