A free training on how to respond to an active shooter event is planned for Saturday, March 11, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the ballroom at the Baker Tower, 1705 Main St.
The training is called CRASE, which stands for Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events.
This presentation is designed to help civilians understand what to do if confronted with an active shooter. The CRASE training is built on the strategy of “avoid, deny and defend.” Topics will include the history and prevalence of active shooter events, the role of law enforcement, and civilian response options.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lunch. Light snacks will be provided.
This event is sponsored by MayDay Inc. CRASE was developed by Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training.
