Baker City Police have arrested a 25-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting multiple boys younger than 14.

Tyler James Arthur, who police describe as a transient, was taken into custody Monday on a charge of second-degree sodomy, a Class B felony. He is being held at the Baker County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail. Arthur will be arraigned Tuesday in Baker County Circuit Court.

Chief Ray Duman said Baker City Police officers learned through their investigation that Arthur had been preying on young victims since this fall.

Arthur has been in and out of Baker City for some time and shows a previous address on 12th Street, according to police records.

Additional information will be presented to the Baker County District Attorney’s Office and is expected to be presented to a grand jury for further indictments, Duman said.
