Ruth Alice Huffman Baker, 94, of Sweet Home, died Dec. 6, 2017.
A reception took place Monday, Dec. 11 at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel, which was in charge of arrangements.
Ruth was born on Sept. 14, 1923, at Ethan, South Dakota, to Henry and Lydia (Sandman) Rumbolz.
She served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955. She was stationed in Okinawa, Japan, during the Korean War and attained the rank of staff sergeant.
Ruth retired from Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles in 1984 after 17 years of service.
She enjoyed bowling and gardening. She was a longtime member of Sweet Home Seventh-Day Adventist church.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Frank Gates of Sweet Home; her son, Roger Huffman of Phoenix, Arizona; her daughter, Laura Osterkamp of Baker City; and her grandsons, Cecil Hadley of Sweet Home, McKenzie Sullivan of Baker City, and Emery Huffman of Peoria, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her second husband, Cecil Huffman; her brother, Richard Rumbolz; and her sisters, Ardith Evans, Dorothy Gray and Wanda Heinz.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to The Salvation Army.
