The Baker girls basketball team ended an historic season in disappointing fashion this morning, falling 50-48 to Valley Catholic in a consolation game at the Class 4A state tournament in Forest Grove.

Baker led most of the game, by as many as 11 points in the third quarter, but Valley Catholic rallied in the fourth quarter, taking its first lead with 2 minutes left. Baker led 48-47 on Emily Carter's layin with 19 seconds left, but Valley Catholic's Callie Kawaguchi hit a three-pointer with 17 seconds left for the winning margin.
