Baker’s tennis teams split a match with Vale Friday at the Ash Grove Complex.

The Baker girls won 4-1 while the boys dropped a 3-2 decision.

“We played a lot of good tennis,” said Baker coach Dave Johnson.

“Our boys didn’t quite get what we wanted, but they played well.”

Hannah Johnson and Gabby Treblecock each won their singles matches in straight sets.

Baker won both doubles matches in three sets each.

Kaylee Dalke and Emma Finley teamed to win the No. 1 doubles. Naomi Woodward and Andrea Pettit won the No. 2 doubles.

In boys play, Zach Schwin won the No. 1 singles, but needed a tie-breaker in the second set to do so.

Baker’s No. 2 doubles team of Isaac Nemec and Alex Davila won their match in straight sets.

“It was a good way to start Spring Break,” Johnson said.
