Baker opened Greater Oregon League baseball action Saturday by sweeping Mac-Hi 12-2 and 6-0 at the Baker Sports Complex.
The Bulldogs hammered 14 hits in the first game, nine for extra bases.
“We swung the bats pretty well in the first game,” said Baker coach Tim Smith.
The Bulldogs scored in every inning, ending the game in the fifth.
Dawson Linscott and Sam McCauley led Baker hitting with three hits each. Linscott had a triple, a three-run home run and drove in four runs. McCauley had a pair of doubles and drove in one run.
Spencer Smith and Drew Osborn each added a pair of hits. Smith had a double and three RBIs and Osborn a double and an RBI.
Brendan Golar added a solo homer, Mason Van Arsdall an RBI triple, and Jackson Rohner a double.
Morgan Bennett earned the win on the mound. Bennett allowed seven hits and struck out four.
In Game 2, the teams played scoreless ball through four innings.
Baker scored one run in the fifth, and added five in the sixth.
Rohner had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs. Linscott also had two hits, including a double, and an RBI.
McCauley earned the win, firing a one-hitter while striking out 14 Pioneers.
Baker (5-3 overall and 2-0 in GOL play) travels to Homedale Tuesday for a single game, then travels to La Grande Friday for a GOL doubleheader.
