Baker runners will be seeking both individual and team titles Friday afternoon when the Bulldogs host the Greater Oregon League district cross-country meet at Quail Ridge Golf Course.

The course is at 2801 Indiana Ave. in south Baker City.

The girls varsity race will start at 1 p.m., followed by the boys varsity around 1:30 p.m., and the co-ed JV boys and girls around 2 p.m.

Baker Coach Suzy Cole said the boys team is in strong position to win its third-straight district title. Baker's Kale Cassidy will also be trying for his third consecutive individual title. Cassidy finished seventh at the Class 4A state meet in 2018, and the boys team finished sixth.

The Baker girls will be in a "dogfight" with La Grande for the team title, Cole said.

Baker finished ahead of the Tigers in the Baker Invitational on Sept. 27 on the same course at Quail Ridge.

Baker's Sydney Keller paced the girls team with a third-place finish at the Baker Invitational.

Both the boys and girls teams are hoping to advance to the state meet Nov. 9 at Lane Community College in Eugene.
