PENDLETON — Baker defeated Pilot Rock 9-4 Saturday in its opening game at the District 3 Little League baseball tournament and followed up by routing Pendleton 13-4 on Sunday.

Baker will return to action Tuesday at 7 p.m. against Wallowa Valley.

Baker 9, Pilot Rock 4

Thomas Smithson was the winning pitcher, striking out six. Isaiah Jones led Baker with two hits and two RBIs. Hudson Spike added a home run and two RBIs, Jaxon Logsdon a solo homer, Sage Joseph two RBIs and Kaden Conklin two hits.

Baker 13, Pendleton 4

Baker had 10 hits, led by Spike’s 3-for-4 night. Bean Newman and Paul Hobson each had multiple hits.

Spike also started on the mound, allowing three runs on two hits in three innings while striking out seven Pendleton batters. Jones pitched the final two innings.

Baker players are Palmer Chandler, Kaden Conklin, Paul Hobson, Isaiah Jones, Resaan Jones, Sage Joseph, Jaxon Logsdon, Bean Newman, Giacomo Riguerio, Kade Rudi, Cooper Secl, Thomas Smithson, and Hudson Spike. Coaches are Kevin Logsdon, Mike Rudi, Jebron Jones and Dustin Newman.
