NYSSA — Baker opened its football season Friday by shutting out Nyssa 38-0.

Spencer Shirtcliff threw for two touchdowns — one each to Kaden Myer and Riley Flanagan — and ran for another score.

Gauge Bloomer ran for two scores and almost 200 yards, and Ethan Myers scored on a blocked punt.

It was the first game as head coach for Jason Ramos.

Baker (1-0) travels to Homedale Friday.
