Baker swimmers qualify for state

S. John Collins / Baker City HeraldJustin Miller and teammates will compete at state competition next weekend. Miller will swim in two individual events and two relays.

Baker will send six individual swimmers and four relay teams to the Class 4A/3A/2A/1A state swim meet Friday and Saturday at Tualatin Hills Aquatics Center at Beaverton.

Breanna Stadler will head to state in the 100 backstroke, 200 individual medley, the 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay.

Corinna Stadler advances in the 100 backstroke, 100 butterfly and both relays.

Hollie Mays qualifies in the 100 freestyle and 400 freestyle relay.

The other members of the 200 medley relay are Salena Bott, Katie Huntington and Caitlin Lien.

The other members of the 400 freestyle relay are Bott, Kelcee Bailey and Huntington.

On the boys side, Justin Miller advances in the 200 freestyle, 100 backstroke, 200 freestyle relay and 400 freestyle relay.

The other members of the 200 relay are Luke Barnes, Isaac Nemec, Jacob Miller, Zachary Wise and Griffin Stone.

The other members of the 400 relay are Jacob Miller, Nemec, Barnes and Wise.

Baker placed third in both the boys and girls halves of the district meet at La Grande.

Breanna Stadler and Justin Miller are district champions in the 100 backstroke.

Baker’s boys 400 freestyle relay team of Jacob Miller, Justin Miller, Nemec, Barnes and Wise also finished as district champions.
