PENDLETON — Baker wrestlers placed second at the Rollin Schimmel Memorial wrestling tournament Saturday at Pendleton.

The Bulldogs finished with 184.5 points, trailing only the host Buckaroos (247).

Baker had two individual champions. Elijah Banister was first at 145 pounds, and Clay Keller first at 170.

Alex Duran (126) placed second, Alex Gross (106) and G’ovi Quezada (195) third, Alex Davila (152), Hudson Cole (220) and Lucien Yervasi (285) fourth, and Nick Blair (132), Jake Eskew (145), and Trenton Ashby (285) sixth.

Friday, the Bulldogs defeated Madras 54-24 and Ridgeview 60-18.

Baker coach Brandon Young said the Bulldogs expected to wrestle four or five duals Friday, but Pendleton revamped the schedule.

“We won the duals, but did not wrestle to our full potential,” Young said.

Baker competes at the annual Rollie Lane Invitational Friday and Saturday. Action begins each day at 8 a.m. PST.

The Rollie Lane features 64-man brackets in a double elimination format
