Baker turned up the defensive pressure in the second half Friday to defeat Ontario 74-51 and secure the Greater Oregon League boys basketball regular-season championship.

Trailing 35-34 at halftime, Baker outscored Ontario 40-16 in the second half to run its GOL record to 5-0.

Baker outscored the Tigers 17-7 in the third period, then exploded for a 23-9 advantage in the final eight minutes.

Caden Long led Baker with 22 points. Gabe Gambleton added 18 points and Kaden Sand 17.

Baker closes out the GOL regular season Friday at La Grande. Baker then will host the Greater Oregon League district championship game Feb. 16.
